Rev. Jenny
Background
I have a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), where my emphasis was on comparative religions. My studies at UCSB included many classes in religious studies and comparative religions, giving me a solid grounding in the religions of the world.
I received my Interfaith ordination from the Interfaith Seminary in Santa Cruz, the second oldest Interfaith seminary in the nation, in 2000. My seminary project was on interfaith rites of passage, partly sparked by my background in anthropology and my on-going interest in different cultures.
I spent a year as a Chaplain Resident at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California, where I completed my Clinical Pastoral Education in 2001. I spent over 5 years as a spiritual counselor for Pathways Hospice in the San Francisco Bay Area, during which time I created and officiated at many memorials and funerals and also managed to squeeze in several weddings. I left Pathways to focus more of my attention on my Interfaith ministry and my holistic healing practice, Blue Rose Healing Arts. I continue to be involved in hospice as a volunteer.
My personal spiritual practice includes the creation of unique rituals and ceremonies. During the past 20 years I have been involved with the creation and performance of literally hundreds of distinctive rituals. Based on that experience, my husband Dennis and I are in the process of coauthoring a book on creating Interfaith rituals for all occasions.
